Together, the four global programmes coordinated by BMB work in close synergy to ensure that every stage of the criminal justice chain is effectively addressed. By complementing one another’s mandates and sharing operational information, methodologies and tools, these programmes create a coherent, end-to-end response that links border control, specialized investigations and international cooperation into a unified effort against transnational organized crime.
The Global Maritime Crime Programme (GMCP) supports states in tackling maritime crime and fostering international cooperation to address the transnational nature of these offenses. It aims to establish a comprehensive criminal justice response to maritime crimes by developing robust maritime security strategies, implementing effective legislation, and enhancing maritime capacities.
The Passenger and Cargo Control Programme (PCCP) strengthens national law enforcement capacities to detect and intercept illicit goods and high-risk passengers at air, sea and land borders while facilitating legitimate trade and travel.
The Global Programme on Criminal Network Disruption (GPCD) works with Member States to promote intelligence-led, technical and cooperative criminal justice actions that go ‘beyond the seizure’ to target criminal business operations and key criminal actors, from multiple jurisdictions.
The Global Programme on Crimes that Affect the Environment (GPCAE) supports Member States to strengthen the capacities of law enforcement and criminal justice systems to prevent and counter crimes that affect the environment such as wildlife crime, forest crime, crimes in the fisheries sector, minerals crime and waste crime.
